Nicole Avakyan

I was born in Uzbekistan (where chemistry synthesize you!), but have spent more than half of my life here in Montreal. My PhD research focuses on expanding the natural DNA base-pairing alphabet by introducing small molecules into the mix to reprogram the assembly outcome of unmodified DNA. Outside of lab time, I feed my creative wild side in pursuit of various musical, artistic and culinary projects.
